BLESSINGS, LOVE & SMILES :) <3 SM <3
Most recently during my photo shoot for FG Magazine, I decided to start singing one of my favorite songs "Love Sets Me Free" A Capella, it totally wasn't planned. Isn't that the best sometimes, when things just happen organically. Can you believe I managed to keep my balance with all that crazy, fun hair on my head. I would like to thank the fabulous Kioni and Quierra Davis-Martin for the amazing hair and make-up hook up.....love them!:)
Wishing all of you a beautiful and blessed day.<3 ~Shauna Madinah~
"You have not faith unless you love for your brother or sister what you love for yourself." And, "To save a life is to save the whole of humanity."
I try to live my life color blind, I have felt that way since I was a child...never seeing color or a different ethnicity when I see people. We are all "One Humanity" and therefore, to me, everyone is my brother or my sister no matter where they are in the world or what they look like. Underneath our skin we all bleed the same color and feel the same joy, hurt and struggle.
I see my career rooted in humanitarian work and I have a deep and genuine concern for this world and want to make it a better place. For me making a difference, by reaching out to help others in various ways, is what life is truly about.<3 ~Shauna Madinah~
There is a force that has the ability to heal the soul and bring humanity together, that beautiful force is LOVE! Love touches the heart in a way that nothing else can. Love is an unspoken language at times and it gives you the ultimate joy and peace within. A simple smile or hello can give someone the love that brightens their day. Love can even save a life.
I am a person who genuinely loves people and enjoys spreading the love from heart to heart in whatever form that may be. In order for one to receive love…one should always give love! Pure love is a willingness to give without a thought of receiving anything in return. This is most prevalent in the song I've written "Love Is." Here are some of the lyrics:
"Love Is and Love goes it will never do you wrong, it will never leave you all alone"
"Love Is and Love goes it will never hurt your soul it will never leave you in the cold"
"Life is full of changes can’t help but feel it can’t hide the way that love makes you feel"
"You cannot erase it when it’s deep within you then you understand the way that True Love Is"
Music and lyrics by: Shauna Madinah -"Love Is"
My music emulates my thoughts and feelings in real life. I do not write unless I feel. All that we are is the result of what our thoughts are, how our hearts feel and what we have founded and made 'real'.
Some of my favorite quotes that I live by are:
"If we speak or act with an evil thought then most assuredly pain follows."~Buddha
"Hatred does not cease by hatred at any time. Hatred ceases by love." ~Buddha
"Never be afraid to love or give love we can truly change the world with it!" <3 ~Shauna Madinah~
Everyone seems to think when you follow your dreams it’s all roses. You just set your mind to it and it all just falls easily into place. As a little girl, I must say, I had hoped that this was the case. However, I have come to find out, that this is the farthest thing from the truth. In my quest for success in music & entertainment I have seen many sorrows and disappointments. You would think anyone who has gone through what I have would just give up. I decided that I would not give up because music is much more to me than any monetary value. Music gives me hope, joy and the ability to strive harder than I did the day before to better myself and accomplish my goals. One of the only times I feel total freedom is when I sing and that is a place within me that I know no one can touch.
You have to be very careful who is around you and who "has your back" because, more often than not, the same people that will raise you up to super stardom are the same people that love to see you fall. So make your choices wisely. Music is a dying industry and we have to strive to keep it alive. I have been so close to closing quite a few major deals and right before the deal closes something has happened, a person even died and the deal would always fall through. Your chest just feels like it deflates. So you have to be strong, stay focused and positive. Perseverance is key and the will too never, never give up is imperative. Just know, it is not easy at all, but if you continue to do what you love, and master your craft, eventually your hard work, pain and struggle will be recognized. So feel encouraged for good things lie ahead.<3 ~Shauna Madinah~
When the women in a society are good the whole society is good. When the women in a society are bad the whole society is bad. I say this because we, as women, are the first teachers and caretakers in the household. The children we raise will in turn become adults and start their own families. It is important we instill proper values and ethics in our youth so that they can grow up and become positive influences in their families and in this world. This will help bring continuous change.
So many women are lost to our streets and abused. Many simply lose themselves and forget what’s important about being a strong woman. I wrote a song called, "Woman rise up" that speaks of the struggles that all women go through at every stage of their lives. From a child, to adolescence, to a young adult and a mature woman. As long as we are living we will have struggles. It’s how we deal with the struggles that counts. No matter what the issues may be, as women, we must keep in prospective our responsibility to this planet and the blessings the Most High Creator has given us. We can change the world and we, as women, are the first ones who get the opportunity to do so starting from childbirth. Even if you are not physically able to give birth, there is some child’s life that you can touch and make a difference in.
We have to be the example to make a difference in this world. To see change, it must start with us. From the way we dress, to the way we walk and carry ourselves. So woman rise up and be grateful and know that you are strong, beautiful and full of power and wisdom. No matter what age you are. Beauty exudes from within…let it shine! <3 ~Shauna Madinah~
